We are currently seeking to engage experienced and professional Underground Fixed Plant Mechanical Technicians to be part of a safe, efficient and profitable underground mining operation. Reporting to the Underground Fixed Plant Mechanical Supervisor you will ensure and be responsible for the scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of the underground Fixed Plant. As an Underground Fixed Plant Mechanical Technician you will support Newcrest's Operating Framework and a Target Zero approach to Safety.
Your key responsibilities will include the following:
• Maintenance of Fixed Plant equipment in a reliable and cost effective manner
• Provide technical support in all aspects Fixed Plant mechanical maintenance
• Identify and report any risk of component or equipment failure
• Monitoring and reporting on status of Fixed Plant equipment
• Being proactive in continuously improving maintenance strategies
• Prompt reporting of all incidents and hazards
• Ensuring compliance with safety, environment and mining statutory requirements
To be considered for this position you will possess the relevant Mechanical Trade Qualifications or equivalent in line with the Australian Qualification Framework. You will have significant mining industry experience relevant to specific underground and Fixed Plant equipment at Cadia Valley Operations.
You will have a proactive approach to your work with demonstrated experience at working in high performing teams and effective leadership skills. As a strong communicator you will have the ability to work effectively with all levels of the business and will be adept in problem solving skills covering complex technical problems.
As part of the Underground Fixed Plant Maintenance team, you will receive senior management support coupled with the opportunity to work with highly experienced professionals. You will be able to maximise value to continue the investment we have in our most important asset, our people.
