Purpose of the role
 
To provide a professional level of engineering expertise and to make technical contributions to production, planning, and quality control projects.
 
Duties
 
The successful candidate will be responsible for technical advise, innovation, planning and methodology in the mine including,

  • Short, medium and long term mine planning activities
  • Examining mining methods and equipment to improve performance
  • Contributing to projects to optimise mine construction and operation
  • Assisting in Drill & Blast designs
  • Contributing to ensure optimal performance of the operation
  • Progression into a planning role
  • Being safety conscious and to provide a culture that fits in with the company values
You will be experienced in open cut mining operations within the coal industry and relevant Tertiary Qualifications in Mining Engineering.  You will have a thorough comprehension of mine planning software such as Vulcan and enjoy the challenge of working in a diverse environment.  You will possess well developed communication, problem solving skills and have a commitment to safety and the environment.
