Specialty chemicals start-up company Pepfactants has patented functional surfactants with applications in oil and gas recovery, amongst other industries.

The company is seeking a scientist, or former scientist, with strong experience in the development and testing of emulsions or foams for the oil/gas sector – extraction, drilling, oil recovery, cleaning of sands.

For example, the person would likely have chemical formulation knowledge of: 

o Surfactant rich formulations and wetting agents
o Reservoir fracturing foams
o Downhole drilling muds
o Enhanced oil recovery fluids and processes

The person will help establish a ‘proof of concept’ technical program for these types of applications, establish success criteria, and assist in monitoring the progress thereof. Note that this is not solely a project management role, rather it requires domain knowledge of the chemical formulation and performance of engineering fluids in the sector.

This is a short term contract role.
