Emergency Services Security Officer

With over 1,000 people on site, Telfer is a fly-in, fly-out operation, located in the Great Sandy Desert (470kms east of Port Hedland). • FIFO - 8 days on, 6 days off
• Telfer based 

Due to an internal promotion, an opportunity has arisen for an excellent communicator to join the Emergency Response and Security Services team. Essentially, you will respond to any emergency incident at Telfer and ensure this is managed in an efficient and effective manner whilst reducing the potential risk to personnel, the environment and company assets. 

Specific key responsibilities include: 

• Coordinating incident response of the ER team
• Maintain all emergency response equipment
• Test emergency response plans and procedures
• Conduct maintenance training of volunteer emergency response personnel
• Coordinate fitness for work testing as required
• Develop and maintain close relationships with department heads and contractors
• Provide security services in line with Newcrest Gold Standard 

To be successful in this role you will have excellent leadership skills and 3-5 years experience in a similar role. Previous mining experience would be advantageous but is not essential. Certificates in Emergency Response and Fire Service will be required. Other Certificates such as Work Place Training and Assessing, First Aid, Security Operations and Public Safety will be beneficial.
