Senior Mine Planning Engineer 

Our Gosowong operation is a joint venture between Newcrest (82.5%) and PT Aneka Tambang (17.5%). The Kencana gold underground mine at Gosowong is the third mine to be developed by Newcrest, employing around 1,200 people. The mine is situated on Halmahera Island, North Maluku in Indonesia.

Located in Eastern Indonesia on the island of Halmahera, Newcrest operates both underground and open pit gold mines, including the Kencana underground mine, one of the highest grade, underground mines in the world today. The project is located within the Gosowong gold province, which covers an area of approximately 30,000 hectares.
 
Gosowong is situated in the North Maluku province region and is 2,400 kilometres northeast of the capital, Jakarta. 

In combination with a tropical, high rainfall environment, the Gosowong epithermal gold deposits offer a challenging mining environment for both open pit and underground operations. The underground deposits employ novel and successful mining techniques in underhand cut and fill stoping, benching and Avoca methods utilising cemented pastefill and rockfill. 

Gosowong is situated in the North Maluku province region and is 2,400 kilometres northeast of the capital, Jakarta. Newcrest via its JV subsidiary, PT Nusa Halmahera Minerals, has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Mine Planning Engineer on a two year fixed-term basis. Reporting to the Technical Services Superintendent, you will gain valuable international exposure and a fantastic opportunity to showcase your professional skills and attributes. 

Your key accountabilities will include the following: 

• Timely onsite short and medium term mine planning to support safe, efficient and optimal production from underground operations
• Provide support to long term planning function
• Mine design and scheduling using Mine24D and EPS
• Training and skilling of workforce in Mine24D/ EPS design and scheduling
• Build effective relationships with all stakeholders to ensure optimisation of mining
• Promotion of leadership and pro-active input from the Nationals technical staff 

You will be suitably qualified in Mining Engineering and have the desire to work in an offshore position training and mentoring site National mining engineers as well as: 

• Extensive mining experience in underhand or overhand cut and fill mining methods
• Excellent software design and scheduling skills using Mine24D and EPS
• Supervisors or Mine Managers Certificate
• A proven track record in mentoring & developing personnel 

This position is offered on a 4/2wks roster FIFO from point of hire or you can choose to live in Manado, Indonesia on a 5/2days FIFO roster. An attractive package of salary, allowances and travel benefits is provided.
