The Project is a water pipeline system from coastal Chile east into the Andes Mountains. The system consists of two 42-inch diameter pipelines with five pumping stations and an associated reservoir system at the eastern end. The water, with intake and desalination systems upstream of the pipelines (performed by others), is intended for use in copper mining activities (also outside the scope of the Project). The project is currently in FEED stage and should move into EPCM in 2Q2012.





Site Construction Manager

The Pump Station manager will begin working on the project in Houston, TX. Once the construction segment of the project is ready, the Pump Station Manager will mobilize to the field on camp status in Chile, South America.



This position will be responsible for the organization and direction of construction and related activities in the installation of pipeline pump stations through the high altitude elevations of the Andes mountain range. Responsible for all jobsite activities and ensures construction operations are in compliance with the design and specifications, is capable of planning work schedules, and ensures that work is being performed within budget and to quality standards.



Essential Job Duties:

Duties include on-site management for compressor / pump station facilities related to Oil / Gas/ Slurry pipeline projects. Duties include development of feasibility and project development proposals, project bids, estimating and procedure development for installation of international projects, especially slurry pipelines, based on earthquake designs.



Manage front end activities for large international pipeline projects, i.e. installation of construction camps, logistics planning, and project set-up for all construction needs and support infrastructure. Responsibilities include creating crew schedules, work plans and overall project execution plans, collaborate on project control and accounting practices; assist contracts department in the evaluation process of subcontractors and equipment supplier proposals. Supports development of cost estimates and project bid data and aids legal groups in the determination of contract and bid exceptions. Manage all construction installation activities for facilities including: civil, piping, structural, and electrical/ instrumentation, startup and commissioning, and sign-off and hand-over to client.



Ensure HSE requirements are adhered to, review project objectives with subcontractor/s; manage the execution of subcontractors’ work, plan project schedules and reporting mechanisms; develop and establish project controls for subcontracted work; supervise installation of temporary infrastructure and permanent facilities; manage subcontractors and client interfaces.

Manage material logistics support, delivery of materials and equipment, manage hiring of direct hire staff and schedule multiple rotation work shifts, manage contract negotiations for subcontractor/s and prime contractor interfaces









Basic Qualifications:


• 15 + years in pipeline / related facilities industrial construction
• 10 + years in a supervisory / managerial capacity
• 10 + years in an engineering / design and constructability capacity for major pipeline projects
• Willing to relocate to both domestic and international assignment locations
• Willing to work and live 7 days per week in remote construction camp sites
• Medical exam required and must be deemed capable of working at high altitudes (elevations in access of 4000 meters/ 12,000 ft.)
• Well versed in all pipeline and related facilities National and Standard construction codes for civil, ASME B 31-4 and ASME B 31.8, tankage, steel building, earthquake design, hydro testing, startup and commissioning installations.
