The key purpose of this role is to assist with development of the operations component of the MMG Management System and to lead audits in Operations.

Reporting to the Operational Systems Manager and based in our Group Office in Southbank, Melbourne, the key challenges you will face in this role will be to take MMG's Operations on the journey from being mines developing systems in isolation, to the mine developing (where practicable) standardised systems with input from all mines, in concert with other MMG departments, and the auditing of these systems.

Specifically, you will be responsible for:

  • Executing projects which facilitate development of Operations controlled documents
  • Liaising with the Operational Systems Manager, site and MMG persons on the Operations component of the MMG Management System
  • Providing input into the development of MMG Group approved controlled documents
  • Leading and effecting audits in Operations
  • Providing audit resources for supplier audits (as required)

    We will require you to have auditing experience and In considering your application we will look for demonstrated capability in document writing, and in performing, analysing and documenting audits. This experience may have been gained in mining, oil, gas, chemical processing, or in heavy engineering plants or facilities.

    Additionally we will look for the ability to:

    • Read and understand details in legislation and national standards;
    • Acquire a technical understanding of mine operations, engineering activities, OH&S practices, environmental practices, laboratory practices and risk management and to possess; and
    • Acquire (or possess) a thorough understanding of the requirements of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 and ISO 17025.
