Regular rotations, on the job development and a strong focus on mentoring are highlights of our Graduate Development Program (GDP).
Graduates are offered placements in our Brisbane Head Office, our Perth Regional Office or at various open cut and underground mine sites across Australia. As we also work internationally, there may be opportunities for graduates to visit abroad.
We offer an industry-leading remuneration package, along with all the benefits that come with working with the Downer team.
The program is self-paced and graduates have the flexibility to progress through the program as quickly or slowly as they like. We recognise that success comes through individual achievements and development – not in a specific timeframe.
Completing our graduate program can also open the door for opportunities of advancement within the Downer Group as suitable positions arise.
To be considered a suitable candidate for entry into our GDP, applicants are required to have:
- Graduated with an undergraduate or postgraduate degree from an Australian University
- Graduated no more than two years prior to the GDP commencement date
The duration of the GDP is approximately two years; however this will depend on your discipline and how you progress with completing program requirements.
The GDP consists of three primary components:
1) On the job development
- Mentoring program
2) Face-to-face professional development
3) Program completion
