As an employee of Santos there are a number of employee benefits currently available.
Santos contributes 10.5% of notional base salary toward an employee’s superannuation fund. The Santos superannuation fund is an accumulation fund and is managed by Mercer Super Trust. Alternatively, employees can choose a fund of their choice. The superannuation fund also provides insurance benefits such as income protection to most members.
Performance bonus scheme
Santos offers a generous performance incentive scheme which is based on both company and individual performance. Bonuses may be earned on an annual basis.
Employees can minimise their tax by taking advantage of Santos’ salary sacrifice arrangements. Through salary sacrifice, employees can make before-tax contributions to superannuation, novated car leasing, laptop and portable computers, business-related software, parking, subscriptions to professional journals, airport lounge membership, electronic diaries, taxis to and from work, relocation fees and financial advice.
This arrangement is offered in line with Australian Taxation Office guidelines and may be subject to change.
Santos has arrangements with a number of the major banks for discounts on mortgage and personal loans which include discounts on fees and interest rates.
Paid maternity leave
Employees who have completed at least one year’s continuous service with Santos will be eligible to paid leave for the first 16 weeks of up to 52 weeks’ leave to care for a newborn or adopted child.
Discounted medical fund membership
Santos offers a discounted corporate health plan through MBF. Other benefits associated with this plan include the MBF in2life Partners Program which includes discounts on movie tickets to selected cinemas, sporting goods, vitamins and other health-related products and entry to some of Australia’s most popular theme parks.
Santos will reimburse employees for the expense associated with relevant professional membership of up to a maximum of $500 per annum.
Santos provides financial study assistance toward studies that support business growth and provide individual development in capabilities that are required by the business. The financial assistance comprises up to 75% of tuition fees which may include HECS, student fees, examination fees and costs toward approved textbooks and equipment.
Employees may be granted up to five days paid study leave per year for exams and three hours per week during the term/semester for attendance at approved classes.
Health and fitness
Santos gymnasiums are provided in the Adelaide and Moomba locations.
At other locations where a gym is not available on site, Santos provides employees with financial assistance toward the reimbursement of membership for an accredited fitness (gym) or swimming centre.
Santos employees may choose to become financial members of the Santos social club. Membership gives access to a variety of functions and events held over the year and an extensive range of discounted goods and services.
